FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Today Maddie started SCHOOL! She was SO READY and VERY EXCITED. She wasn't the least bit scared. She told me to leave and she would be fine. I still can't believe I have a child old enough to start school.

THE SWEETEST THING

Yesterday Maddie surprised me by making our bed and leaving us love notes on our pillows. Little kids are the best. Thanks Maddie for being so sweet.

ANOTHER ADVENTURE!

So we had the ward campout last night and let me just say, I think we are done with camping for this summer.

We went from THIS...Abbie playing happily in the dirt. She was working in her garden.Emmie climbing up to steal food from other peoples chairs.Maddie playing with her friends.

TO THIS....

NOT ONE BUT TWO FLAT TIRES! So instead of leaving at nine last night, we got home at eleven. Now to get new tires and write this story in my journal. Just another chapter to add to the Smith Family Adventures.

Smith Family Campout

July has been very busy. We went on the houseboat, then we went to Logan, and right after that we had a family campout with Shem's fam. This camping trip was hard and ended by driving home at one in the morning, but it was good to be with family and spend time in the mountains.

Emmie at nine months

This kid is growing up way too fast. In just the last month she has learned to crawl (very well), pull up on things and go up stairs. She babbles ALL the time and she is ALWAYS moving.

Pictures in Logan

Just after coming home from the houseboat we went to Logan for a few days. It was the first time in several years that all the kids, spouses, and grandkids have been together. So of course we had to get pictures taken. We had a good time and my kids got to spend time with cousins that they don't know very well. We went to the logan zoo, played at the park, had a picnic with my dad, played on the slip and slide, and spent hours talking about life.

Houseboat Trip

Our family spent the fourth of July on a houseboat at Lake Mead. The trip was an adventure to say the least. We experienced everything from throwing up in the car to thinking we'd sweat to death. Overall it was alot of fun and the kids had a blast. These are just a few pictures from our trip. Mom and Dad got to ski! Miss Maddie spent all of her time in the water with her cousins. She would cry when we made her get out for more sunscreen. She also tried knee boarding with mom.

Sweet Abbie did NOT like the water. So she spent most of her time playing in the little boat or pouring water on others. When she got tired she would fall asleep anywhere she could.

Little Emmie was a great trooper. She floated in the water, ate snacks, slept on boat rides and played inside the houseboat. She was happy anytime someone was holding her.
